Hi my name is Terry and I am one of the leaders of Barnabas Community Church. I also oversee the youth work but since Phil & Kate and their team do such an excellent job I don’t have to do much! I was brought up in a Christian home and went to church with my parents throughout my teenage life. I didn’t make a commitment to God until my late teens when everything became real to me and my relationship with Jesus started. Once this had happened God began to change me and deal with areas of my life that had not been great. The three areas that I have particularly been set free from are dishonesty, gambling and anger. God’s grace is so amazing. He helped me to understand that trying to live two lives - on the one hand paying lip service to Christianity, on the other hand stealing, lying, gambling and fighting meant that I was in spiritual agony. I turned away from this ‘double life’ and decided to live wholeheartedly for him. I have NEVER regretted it and not only have I been saved by God, I have also been called by Him to serve His church - I have the best job in the world! I see people becoming Christians in front of my eyes and I am amazed at how God can transform people and cause them to be really free. God has blessed me in so many ways. He has given me a loving wife and family, a job that I love, many friends and a wonderful church. But most importantly He has given me a relationship with Him. I don’t deserve it but I get it! And that has been made possible because of Jesus’ death on the cross, taking the punishment for my sins. If you are not yet a Christian, my advice to you is to seriously investigate the claims of Jesus Christ - He is the real thing and He’s changed my life forever!!
